Tanya Huang and Dorise Blackmon were an influential music duo who busked the Royal Street corners of New Orleans for years. I had the great fortune of hearing their haunting duets often when I lived in the French Quarter. Along with the likes of Dwight Lamb, Kyle Nix, and traditional Celtic fiddle ballads, Tanya and Dorise's violin/guitar compositions are a great inspiration for Gabe and Frankie's music.
