Masks

The N95 respirator has become one of the most coveted items during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet the life-saving mask would not exist if not for the infamous plague masks worn by doctors in 17th Century Europe, as well as the work of Wu Lien-Teh during the Manchurian Plague of 1910. (Ink) This series was produced for Columbia College Chicago's Aesthetics of Research.
